What We Believe

The mission of Parent Compass is to empower parents to prepare children for what is to come in their lives. It is our strong desire at Parent Compass, Christian Life & Family Show, to bring God – His love, His truth, His guidance, His wisdom, His rest, His peace – VISUALLY into homes to parents through today’s media and internet. We believe God and His Word makes all the difference – now and to generations.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

What we believe in- God, Jesus Christ, Holy Spirit, church, resurrection and life everlasting – is the same as the apostles long ago who walked the earth with Jesus.  As found in The Apostle’s Creed:

APOSTLE’S CREED

We believe in God, the Father Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth;

And in Jesus Christ his only Son, our Lord;
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, dead, and buried;*
the third day he rose from the dead;
he ascended into heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;

We believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic** church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.

*Traditional use of this creed includes these words: “He descended into hell.”
**universal

WE BELIEVE

CHRIST, AND THE BIBLE – GOD’S WORD, ARE A PARENT’S TRUE COMPASS.

The wisdom and truth found in God’s Word provide direction for life, family and parenting.

If we, as parents, will draw near to God and seek Him, He will draw near to us and give us, His love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control and comfort, help and power (from asking for more of the Holy Spirit), as well as, grace, mercy, favor, strength, wisdom and more; as He is the one and only true God and these are His attributes. Most important is to abide (remain) in Christ and to love God and others; then important things needed for life, family and parenting will follow.

The following scriptures support the statements above:

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking,
training in righteousness,” 2 Timothy 3:16 New International Version

“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to
without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” James 1:5

”God is love. Whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in them.” 1 John 4:16b New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)

Jesus said, “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain (abide) in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15:5 New International Version (NIV)

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” Galatians 5:22-23 This love, joy, peace… is what God wants to bring into homes if we will choose him and ask for more of the Holy Spirit as in Luke 11:13: “If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”

The most important choice parents make is whether or not to love God, as it states in the Ten Commandments:

“You shall have no other gods before me.

“You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 5You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me,6 but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.” Exodus 20:4-6

In essence by knowing, seeking and loving God, He will guide you, as in Matthew 6:33 “Seek ye first His (God’s) kingdom and His righteousness and all these other things will be added unto you.” (parenthesis added)
